Stumbled across this California hours of service exemption today:

    § 1212 (f)
Retail store deliveries. The provisions of Section 1212.5(a) shall not apply with respect to drivers of commercial motor vehicles engaged solely in making local deliveries from retail stores and/or retail catalog businesses to the ultimate consumer, when driving solely within a 100 air-mile radius of the driver's work-reporting location, during the period from December 10 to December 25, both inclusive, of each year.

Yeah but if you are already under the 100 air mile deal aren't you exempt from logging period? Kind of seems redundant to me.

<100 air miles is exempt from logging, but still subject to hours of service regulations (employers are supposed to maintain timekeeping records).
