I'm trying to find a Federal link on having Red Dye Fuel in commercial trucks saying it's not allowed. We are starting to see red fuel in some of the trucks we pick up. Thank you...

I'd think it would be in state law since it identifies untaxed diesel fuel.q

Oh boy, Sleepy, you go right to Alcatraz, no questions asked! In Wisconsin anyway, it's a huge no-no. According to the Bismark Tribune, (right up your alley), fines range from $250-$1000 for the 1st offense, $500-$2000 for 2nd, within 3 years of the 1st, and can go as high as $10,000 for subsequent offenses. In Wis., DOT checks the cattle buying places, as many farmers use red fuel in their trucks (no road use tax) and I had a farmer buddy get a $5,000 fine for that. The DOT will walk around the trucks and check their tanks for red fuel, that's how he got busted. They have no sense of humor in that deal.
