I always like it when they say they are being forced to run illegal, or junk.
-
You are right. Forgot you can work past 14 hours.

The Only issue is the 70 hour rule over 8 days. If, the driver is forced to exceed the 70 hour rule...Carrier is @ fault. i.e. driver may ignore the nonsense, the purpose of the 34 hour rule, after completing the 34 hour restart, it will enable the driver to operate approx 82 hours over 8 days. So, if the driver is requested by the Carrier to get off his hindquarters and return to work...the driver should return to work. (it aint as if the Carrier is being a jerk)

Knowing your rights, the STAA has provisions in it to 'protect' WB and puts the driver in control of the truck. -
month ago i had to log 14 hours to get on time delivery
if i ran out my 11 first day with 30 minute cookie break
i would be late second day
running 2 7 hour days no cookie break i delivered on time
an elog buddy says that makes no sense.............sighBeN DaViS Thanks this. -
How do you guys keep track of your hours for the 8 days? Do you have a calender you write on or does the Qualcom have it stored?
-
BeN DaViS Thanks this.

No where did I read they were forcing the driver to drive over hours, just that they wanted to roll the truck before the reset, It is the employers call if they want to allow the driver to even use a 34 reset.
Jerry12 Thanks this. -
Not enough info provided to know if recap hours are available. It's not hard to hit 68 hours in 5 or 6 days if you're dispatched properly and not solar powered.
