I will be driving cabs to the dealer for pms and back to the company its a half hour between the dealer and company do I need to keep a log book ?

This is entirely a company policy issue not a FMCSA issue. Could be either way depends on company policy. Legally no you should not.

If you stay within 100mi. of term. you may use a drivers time record type log book or carry time card with you, you will have 12hr to return to starting place or you will have to use log type book. If CO. doesnt want the logs you can do whatever with them but keep the last 7 days with you in truck that you del. so if stopped by law you will be OK.

Every company is different you'll need to ask your company.They may require it for their own records.

You better double check the Vehicle inspection rule. You're driving a CMV. Might be a problem if not inspected and you get stopped.
