Got a message today saying it was time my annual inspection and that I had to do it 1-30-15. According to the sticker it's marked February '14 was the last inspection. I had originally planned to get it done in 2 weeks when I go home because I thought it was expired in feb. Is there any grace period? Is it expired at the end of January or the end of February. I only ask because I've got an extremely hot load and can't really afford 3-4 hrs sitting waiting to hav it done

my sticker reads : expires 1 year after the below date. I don't know if they're all the same or not but maybe if you read it carefully.

Got a message means your company is telling you to get it done BEFORE it expires, right ?

Feb 2014 should be good thru Feb 2015, Midnight on Feb 28th its gone, March 1st its past due

If you're an owner op, you should keep a copy of the DOT inspection form on you. What is the date on it or the sticker? If Feb 1 2014, you need to have a new dot before Feb 1, 2015. If Feb 28, you have through Feb 27...
You can buy an inspection form and sticker at most TA's and do your own inspection. If the TA doesn't have it on the shelf, ask the shop guys -- they always have some in the back.Studebaker Hawk Thanks this. -
The inspection is good for 1 year. if its marked 02/14, it is good until 02/28/15. Grace period depends on the state you get stopped in. When you get it done, keep a paper copy in your permit book. if the marker washes off the sticker, you don't have a valid inspection anymore unless you had the paper report with you.

If the inspection was performed on February 1st the previous year it needs to be inspected by January 31the current year. If performed February 20th the previous year it needs to be done by February 19th the current year. February 28th previous, February 27th current.... All based on the actual date of the inspection as listed on the inspection form carried on the truck. (not the month and year of the sticker)
