    Funny farm:

I was thinking about this after reading again (and a good nap :).
My local drivers do not take a lunch either. They eat on the road etc.
Now if it is causing OT (If paid hourly) that could be why they are requesting that 30 minute break and using the 8:00 to 5:00 clock in "office" person rules. No one "has" to take a 30 minute break (not even office, warehouse etc) however it does have to be offered and if they work through their lunch they should be paid (salary is different).

I KNOW for a fact their is NO DOT regulation saying you must take a break.

    Thanks Logs:biggrin_25514:
We are O/O leased on to a company, we are paid by the mile ( not hourly ) We run a day cab, hubby drives in the day time and I drive a fairly short run at night. I really thought it sounded kind of dumb that they were telling me I had to take a lunch break. I dont want to, I sit long enough where I load at to relax and eat, use the restroom, etc. I really see no need to log a lunch. If I were to log a lunch at the customer's location and end up waiting longer then the hour before unloading, it will be longer before I get paid standby. They suggested I take my lunch there, I think they dont want to pay standby if they can help it. Maybe that is their reason for trying to push taking lunch there. I can not think of any other reason.

I have not been logging lunch, and so far the log book auditors have not questioned my logs.
