You can discuss it all you want. There is no law about drinking in your cab on private property
Why cant I have booze or guns in my sleeper berth?

Try telling that to the cops when a snitch rats you out at the truck stop. it happens a lot more frequenty than you'd think. To me, if you're parked, having a cold beer and not going anywhere, none of my or anyone's business. But there are "drivers" who get off on being a snitch.
MZdanowicz Thanks this. -
You just don't know the law.

mostly because shippers, receivers, and some companies don't want them on their property...you can thank the disgruntled crazies for that, also, the only way booze is permitted on a truck is if you are hauling it in the trailer and its manifested. I seen guys trying to sneak cases or even kegs of beer into their sleeper that they somehow purchased at breweries(how they did that I don't know...especially because it hasn't been taxed yet)and writing their own BOL for it.

So let me get this right, I still have my right to refuse a officer searching my personal belongings in a commercial vehicle?
-
Show me the law that says no booze in a truck while in sleeper/off duty and on private property like a truck stop
-
Besides. You're still in a cmv and the law states no alcohol in a cmv unless it's in the trailer or manifested. It doesn't matter where the cmv is. It's still a cmv.

Nope the government does not understand and does not care.If you feel you're being singled out then find a non trucking job because things are not going to change except only more regulated.
cnsper Thanks this.
