The question was never with FMCSA and their regulations/prohibitions. And as the letter clearly states, any issues would be with local/State jurisdictions regarding the transportation of firearms across a State border, and the legality of possessing/concealing on your person or in your vehicle without the weapon being registered within that specific/changing jurisdiction. Also with the security levels since 9/11, many shippers/receivers, not to mention military installations, correctional institutions, ports, airports...is it really worth the hassles involved to have the weapon with you?

Personally, to me it is about as clear an argument as the drivers that are willing to challenge the border patrol and not give a simple answer of "Yes I am a citizen" when asked!
