So after 10 years of truck driving with NO Violations and clean record, I get a ticket for being on a non-truck route (Though I deliver on that street weekly). The cop wasn't thrilled about giving it out either but there were complaints from residence on the street of too much truck traffic.
This was over 3 weeks ago in Austin, TX. On the paper work it said to call on or before the 25th of this month. I never received anything in the mail.
So, 2 days ago I call the number and they tell me there is no record of it. They assume the officer did not turn it in but still could.
The clerk suggests I drive all the way back to Austin (4 hour Drive) and give them a copy so they can put it in their system and pay the fine.
So, do I ignore it? Did the Cop decide he didn't want to mess up my perfect record and not turn it in?
Can he turn it in and make me out of compliance or lose my CDL because I didn't deal with it before the 25th, though he had not turned it in right away like he should?
    I'm conflicted on this.

sometimes it takes time for them to record it in their system,,,don't show them your copy but make sure you show for a trial date,,contact the police dept and ask to speak with the officer,,make sure if they drop the ticket or you pay a fine you have documentation to prove it CYA

The officer said I didn't have to show in person since I don't live in the area and just needed to call. So I should show anyways, without showing my copy and .... what am I showing up for then? And how do you find the correct police department to call? it only has his last name and ID/region code.

The clerk said they don't accept faxes. I would have to bring in person. I thought that was pretty f#$@ing stupid. I'm supposed to pay for travel, take days off and lose over $900 in pay for skipping my bread and butter route to deliver a print out the officer didn't turn in... all for ignoring a posted no trucks sign on a street I deliver to weekly?

    77smartin Thanks this.

Nope, they wouldn't accept mailing it either. I was starting to wonder if the clerk was just lieing to me. Only accept it in person?
