Well the company I work for just lost pre-pass. Safety & Ops are beyond pissed and they just collected our pre-passes. They also sent out a warning message to all drivers who continue to receive driver-related violations/warnings in DOT inspections will be heavily fined and/or terminated..........this sucks so bad, i loved my prepass.. it was all green lights.. but i noticed that it started to turn red almost every other scale over last two weeks............ :(

my question is... are we permanently suspended from prepass?? i tried to ask safety but he's not giving me an answer at all.. all he keeps saying " it takes 1 person to completely mess it up, this is a collective punishment from prepass and i hope we can learn from this. as far as the time frame, it could be several months or NEVER.".

    WELL ####!!!!

did anyone ever go through this? i am not the bad apple btw...

I'd look at another co...dot will be looking at you guy with fine tooth comb so to speak....unless you want your record to go south, I'd go to a co that knows how to comply ..

i'm an owner operator, i'm in charge of my truck and i keep my truck maintained well... but to respond to you.........do you think i should really bounce just because a few bad apples have messed up the company score? i've been here for 4 years.. absolutely love this company...hopefully things get better.

i've been stopped over a dozen of times (random roadside) and i've passed every single one.. i've always gotten a $250 bonus from the company for each inspection. i dont think i'm ready to leave the company just because a few guys are acting up. hopefully safety & ops straighten out these fools.. cant believe we lost prepass.. just kind of SAD. lol.

Yes you can get it back, no it isn't easy.... scores need to come down, compliance comes up! If you're an O/O why don't you look into getting your own prepass??

I'm with you though, sucks when a few bad apples ruin it for all...

I don't believe prepass collects their transponders just because your scores drop. As far as I know, prepass is happy as long as you keep paying the $15/month.

Whether you get green or red lights depends on your ISS score -- and that is a number devised by the FMCSA using data from inspections:

so do you think they're doing it to punish us or is it because it's probably at 99-100 which results in 100% pull-in which deems it useless?

Not so random; I'd bet your carrier is being targeted.

Therein lies the problem. As long as you are still tied to this company, you are tied to the acceptable safety threshold determined by the ISS they have reached. The company could have retained the PrePass in all their vehicles, however, once a company reaches a score above 98 (50% pull in rate) they would be paying fees and not see any benefits from having them. My guess is that's the reason they were, and turned them in, to avoid the fees.
