I have a serious problem and need to see if anyone can help me out. I started driving in October 2014. The first night I was on the road with my mentor I had a Type 2 accident while my they were in the sleeper. No injuries and no tickets were issued. They kept me on for another 5 months and then let me go. I have since been unable to find even a small local company to give me another chance to keep my experience up with tractor trailer so I can get back to the road. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that I will be able to find anyone to offer me this chance and I don't want to lose my CDL. I know it will take 3 years for that accident to fall off my record, but I'm afraid if I have to wait that long I'll never get another opportunity. My question is am I pretty much screwed on being able to continue my driving career? I really want to get back on the road as soon as possible, but know that is very unlikely.

What the hell is a Type 2 Accident and when did start classification on accidents.

If it is an accident, then it an accident.

If some died or more the two units or the whole highway is shut down, then it would be a major accident.

That's probably a company classification. Since it was his first driving job, its probably just how he is used to referring it & probably doesn't realize its not an industry term or classification, but just what his company calls it. You know some companies & "wheels" need to make up their own big words & terms to feel important.

Like the term " near miss". WTH is a near miss? A miss is a miss. The only way you can "nearly miss" something it that you have hit it. And we know that "near miss" isn't used after you have hit something. I'm sorry but this term is just stupid!

Type 2? 3 or 4 or what ever,,describe the accident and the amount of the damages,,years ago I was a UPS driver,,had a dock for three trailers that you had to blind side in,,very tight and to dock a trailer,,A driver brushed a side clearance light,,just cracked the lens,,they charged him with an accident.. At the annual safety meeting they did not give him a leather log book cover.
If you accident was from carelessness or something stupid,,learn from your mistake and pay the penilty
