| Yes, absolutely yes. The only time you would bypass, in mine and many other driver's opinions, is if the exit lane to the scale is full and leaking out onto the highway; It's too dangerous to be stopped in the middle of the highway. |
| ||||
| Is this for the bypass lights IN the weigh station as well not just prepass?

| scale says closed or bypass go, if prepass gives you a green lite it depends on the state, in Ohio the scales have signs up saying all hazmat must pull in. just read the signs and do what they say |
| ||||
| The info I got with my Prepass lists Arizona, Arkansas and Nevada as states where you must pull in if placarded even if you get the green light. Ohio is a new one to me but I'll keep that in mind next time I have the pleasure of driving their highways. Anyone else know of any other states on this bandwagon? |

| This is a new one on me. It must depend on the state. You don't need to do that here. But as others here have said, just read the signs.

| I had called the Hazmat dept earlier and they told me that the green light on the PrePass means pass reqardless of placards or not. Only the three States posted above do you need to stop or if there are signs saying otherwise.

| one state to look out for is LA. if prepass says go and weigh-in-motion says pull in wether you have haz mat or not pull in I went so far as to stop and ask the scalemaster and he told me to go with the prepass but after reading more on the forums I called prepass and ask them and they told me for the record always do what weigh-in-motion says off the record they said that the scalemaster told me that in order to get me to do something that they could write me a thousand dollar fine for. The next time i go thru that scale i am going in again and get that in writing,them let them write me a ticket!! |

| In LA,go by what the pre-pass gives you.It is posted on the signs.Also,if you have a placarded load,you have to cross the scales in AR.
