Just curious. Did you go through a factoring company like apex or another that would go after them for payment? or trust them to keep their word and pay on time ?
Maybe there should be an "open season" on bad brokers and issue tags like they do for nuisance gators etc...

How these scumbags can sleep at night is beyond me.If you use a loadboard, don't they help to collect past due freight bills some how? Hopefully reporting it here and GL,ITS or Datconnect will help another O/O from being ripped off. I just googled "collecting past due invoices" and several collection companies pop up that don't charge a fee until they collect. Paying a fee still stinks but at least you might be able to get something back this way.

Landstar Broker out of Georgia. The guy gave my driver the wrong city, about 175 miles off base. He would not pay for the fuel difference. He also tried to snake in a $200 "late fee" because we were at the REAL destination 30 minutes late. Upon asking for compensation for a lumper (lumper fee was supposed to be paid for), he told me that it was "irrelvant if the load has been dropped off already." Thanks, bud. I asked to speak to a manager. He puts me on hold for 30 minutes. I hang up, call him again. On hold for 5. Hang up, call again. I get someone else. He is "aware of the situation, but (name of individual) IS the manager!" I contact Landstar Corporate. I tell them about the situation. They pull the lumper fee out of him and say that they will take care of it. I don't know what ever happened to him, but I know he still has a job.

Oh, and it took 3 months to get paid.

You aren't ever going to get paid from this broker.

If your load was double brokered then your broker probably paid you more than what they are collecting from the primary broker. They keep all of the money and you get nothing. That's the scam. Its not that they are just trying to keep a margin between what they are being paid and what you are being paid, they are trying to keep it all.

You need to find the primary broker on this load and expose the secondary broker and maybe you'll get paid the original rate and the secondary broker will get nothing. The primary broker should be listed on the BOL or you can call the shipper or receiver (whoever is footing the bill) and ask which broker that they used on the load. You also need to file on the scumbag broker's bond ASAP, but my guess that broker's bond is long gone.

That's your only chance of getting a dime for these loads.
