They just cut our trip pay (re-formulated it) and unless they fix it my miles have been cut in half.
question #1 Is it legal for them to tell me It's a raise when in fact It's a paycut?
question#2 Can I file with unemployment for my wage reduction?
My fleet mgr says no
I'm tired of them and don't really feel like fighting but would like to know where I stand.

This is a goo example of just how the company drivers are being screwed and I am sure it is just going to get worse for them also,
you company drivers might think about the things that a lot of the owner/operators are going thru and perhaps support them in the next shut down after all once the O/os after all once the O/os have been bled to death it will be your turn, in fact its already starting with rate reductions,slower trucks, more freebies you are doing for the companies,yep it is gonna get tuff on you company drivers too, might want to think on checking out what mickey Ds starting wage is it might be a step up for you -
Guess what? They just cut Schneiders pay 5 cents/mi by cutting back 5 mph. My bro has enough time in to pay for training so he quit. They have to run 30 instead of I 80. Old 66 thru Ok and are only allowed 12 % off route. They have never paid him 1 quarterly bonus because they always say he burned too much fuel. All that stopping and starting on the 2 lanes burns it up.

BTW/they can do anything they want and you can check with a lawyer but I think it's legal. They CAN'T make you like it!

I'm not understanding the question.
Did the company cut your per mile pay or did they come out & say they were cutting your miles?
You were hired on with an expressed contract that spelled out how you were to be paid.
They can't change that in midstream.
I believe it to be illegal for them to unilateraly change your per mile or hourly pay.
If it's a mileage thing & they stated that your miles were going to be less, that's another significant change in your contract.
Both of those reasons are usually enough to leave the company & obtain unemployment.
You won't get unemployment to make up the difference.
You need to be unemployed to get unemployment ins.
Discuss this with a local labor attorney &/or the state labor dept. -
Time to go elsewhere. Be sure you turn the truck in properly when you do quit 'em. Drop it off where they want it, go over the checklist with a company insider, and take lots of pictures of it. Better have a witness who can watch this all go down and possibly speak on your behalf later, too. -
JB has recently cut the starting pay of drivers. But if you pay attention to this companies activity as closely as I do you will notice they have recently given dividend increases to their stock holders. You have a driver who comes on board in good faith looking to commit to a company and they cut his or her pay yet you have a stock holder who may buy a share today then sell it tomorrow and they reward him. If that is not backwards I don't know what is...
