I took it as him not actually wanting to work those long days, because he doesn't like doing resets. If 4000 a week is normal without doing resets, then that's excellent. That's a 57MPH average for a full 70 hours, not deducting the pre-trip, post-trip, fueling, loading, etc.
4000 isn't the usual. Although companies will cram as many miles on new/lower paid drivers as possible.

If I run a 4K week. I'm ready for a break/reset. Of course, I ain't a spring chicken anymore either.

[quote=CMoore2004;472842]How on earth can you get anywhere near 4000 miles/week, especially without doing a reset? Iquote]
i had a 800 mile run that delivered on tue am (first day of pay period) or else i would only have 3K for week.

no, i don't i like to run about 8.75 hrs on lines 3-4 per day, giving me 8.75 hrs EVERY day. and if i keep the left door shut it also gives me a 12-15 hr break every day!!!!

Seems like a 34 would've been the wiser choise and actually given you more hours you could drive. If you drove a total of 9/48 hours in 2 days (4+5=9, yes), you had 39 hours you sat, and you could've combined the 5 and 4 hour days to make a more productive week to come. Plus, you wouldn't have had to wait around until midnight to pick up the 13 to drive, and likely would've made the appointment. By the way, you did deduct the hours you fueled from your available hours the next day, right?
thet would have a fit if i sat there for 34. this is a "critical account" so we are in danger of losing them. they already were calling me this am because i was still sitting at 8AM. LOL "run it on the front end in case you have any problems" i didn't bother explaining i could have 5 blowouts and still make it on time!! unless i had it sunday night, and then it wouldn't have really mattered anyways!!! they don't crunch these #'s day in and day out so they don't get it.

Why don't you just run 10 hours a day. you can log it anyway you want to. It's not like they are going to complain.

believe it or not. i do, occasionally i have "bent" the rules.
if you show dispatch you are willing to run illegal once, they will push you harder, thinking you will always do it.
me, i've read too many stories about what can happen when a dummy in a 4-wheeler kills themself on your truck!!
their fault or not, if the courts match your q-comm records against your logs and they don't match...... you'll be rooming with "bubba the butt-plugger for a LOOOOONG time!!!

yes I subtracted the fueling and PTI from the next days hours. gotta keep it legal...I looked to see if I could sit, and do a 34 hour reset, but it would not work with on time delivery, because of when I ended on Friday night. I could not have fit an 8 or 10 hour break in, and make the appointment.

o well...this weekend is better. Plenty of time to get to chicago for a 8am delivery
