70 hour rule is dangerous!!!!!!!!!!

because of the dumb $$$ 70 hour rule i will have to leave laredo in am (doesn't really matter when because of this stupid rule)
drive 6 hours, stop because i haven't any more hours.
get up sunday, drive 6 hours, STOP (GRRRRR)
then get up at midnight sunday night to make apt. in loudon TN. by 1000 monday AM.
this is rediculous, i could, if not for this dumb #### drive 8.5 hrs tomorrow, 8.5 hrs sunday and get up at 5AM monday and finish off run. what a crock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you fit a reset in there anywhere? That's what I do, although I don't like to set out here. But maybe you can work that in there, and then you could drive full shifts instead of whatever you pick up at midnight.
Just a thought.

Well, that bites. I feel ya though, just did the same thing in LaGrange,GA. Delivered and only had 8 hours for the next 2 days...good time for a reset right? Ended up starting again at 1800 local time and running all night to Jacksonville,FL. Yippeee.....
On the flip side of that, I did get set up with a sweet load, Savannah to Lebec,CA.
Oh well, that's what we make the big money for right?

By golly, THERE's a man who knows how to greet his wifeoid!

I can tell she's not armed!

PHP - man I feel for yah. But I'm contrary.. I LIKE driving at night. Of course, the problem is, to do that, I'd have to sleep during the day, and that would mean Idling the truck - not an action designed to get me in good with the company these days. So.. drive during the day (with the A/C on 'arctic') and sleep at night (with all the vents and suchlike open. Unless I is souf of de mason-dixie line. Den all heck's out fo' brekfas', and I idle de dang truk or I don' sleep. Comp'ny will jes' hafta live wit' it)

Without knowing your situation better, I'd probably go for the 34. If all things are equal at the far end, might as well work as best you can to prepare for the day after.

Just my 25 cents.
