    Parts of I-15 in Utah now have a speed limit of 80. It's not the Autobahn, but it's progress. :biggrin_255:







    Come to think of it, I don't remember what the maximum truck speed is on the autobahn. I was in a car at the time. :biggrin_255:

    In most countries, it usually refers to the German autobahn specifically. The recommended speed of the German autobahn is 130 km/h (81 mph), but there is no general speed limit. Austrian and Swiss autobahns have general speed limits of 130 km/h (81 mph) and 120 km/h (75 mph), respectively

    Is this really something about which to cheer? If most trucks are governed at 60/65 mph... and the speed limit is 80 mph... I don't see this as necessarily a good thing? Frankly, I prefer when all vehicles can travel at the same speeds.

    BTW, the speed differential isn't a problem on the aforementioned Autobahn (although they do have some spectacular crashes). Then again, they take driving and the required skills a lot more seriously over there.

    the only thing it does is allow you to SHOW averaging a pretty good speed, the high speed limits out west really help when I only drive 58-60. I know that it's illegal but my book was looked at twice this week by dot and they couldn't find anything wrong
