logbook what do I have to show?

Frfor example, beginnin my day. Can I draw my line down and put the city and state, then on the underside of the sign, just put PTI?

Or do I need to plut the actual location where I am. Like, do I have to put "PTI - LOVES then underneath "dallas, TX"

I dont wan opinion. I want LEGAL.

Thanks.

No you just have to put city, state. You actually don't even have to put PTI.

WRONG
At every change of duty you MUST put down city and state. Then what you did. NO abbrivations. i.e. Dalles TX, Pre-trip. NOT PTI. Only states may be Abbr.

So you don't have to pretrip your truck everyday or post trip your truck.

I have always pretripped and posttripped. I write the city and state and pretrip and fuel or post trip and fuel.

IMO- additional info on the log sheet is for the driver and or office....there are somethings that the company requires you to put that are not necessarily "required" to be legal, at least in my past experience its been that way.

You're right . There are a lot of questions asked here that would be better directed to a driver's safety department . Every company has its own requirements . Students should check the FMCSA or get their own little green book .

I never said you should not do it. Thing is you are required too do a PTI, not required to put down PTI on the sheet.

READ what I wrote.

That depends on your company. Some require that you log your inspections.
