i put out triangles and called my company which told me to get a room, they let truck sit for 3 days. they came to get me and the truck and it had been towed. called tow company and they said the truck was in an accident and the highway patrol had hold on the truck. called troopers and they said there was numerous violations. they broke in the truck and got my log book and the bills for the load and my safety triangles where nowhere to be found. i guess they can get me for not logging the breakdown and then going offduty. and for not putting the safety triangles out correctly, i guess im supposed to get out my tape measure and make sure they are the correct distance. guess i was to pay for the tow bill myself. i dont think they can do an inspection if i am not there, so i dont think that is some of the violations. looked like a four-wheeler barely nicked me on the fender. the road service crew did see my triangles and also my co-driver

The best thing to do in this circumstance is to notify the company as you did.

Immediately take pictures of the vehicle and how it is on the highway or the shoulder. Also take pictures that reflect the placement of the triangles.

The last thing, never, ever leave the log book in the vehicle.

My guess is they were trying to stay out of the cold. You have some good advice on the thread.

yeah the old truck made it to the top of monteagle before it blowed up, im done with this pitiful outfit anyway. just hope i havent hurt my record. but o well might be done with driving all together. if there is anything else i can find to do, i think i will. seems like it is always the drivers fault. may they let the mexican trucks roll.

Same reason that I saw numerous trucks on Friday in the -20 range shut down on the sides of the road and the police just drove on by. Unless they are called and dispatched, they seem to have no interest anymore. Exception of course is the speeding violations.

heard they had about 50 wrecks that night, also last week while in michigan and ohio i noticed they let the roads get in real bad shape. worse than i have ever seen, no salt shakers anywhere, but wrecks everywhere.

If the temps are too cold, the salt won't do any good anyway.

Michigan has cut back on their road salting operations.
