How far back can they go ?

    Here in the Calif DMV holds records for 7 years. Each State is different on that. As far as the Feds are concerned I don't know. It would also depend if the company you are appling for goes into Canada as well.

    When I renewed my KY CDL they asked for license numbers of all licenses held in the last 10 years . I had a GA license 9 years ago but when I called GA they said they only kept records 7 years . When I went to KY DMV they had no problem pulling up 10 year GA info on the computer .

    California DMV holds records for longer than 7 years. Before my husband got his CDL, his long form showed his 17 year old DUI.

    Who is "they"?

    They as in cops? They as in motor carrier inspectors? They as in motor carriers?
