I think you will need to provide a more detailed question or you may get some useless answers. Whose regs are you asking about? Voluntary or involuntary termination? The more specific you can be the better an answer you can get.
panhandlepat Thanks this. -
If the company that you work for terminates you, are they bound by 'termination regulations'? They're bound to certain hiring regs.
-
I'm pretty sure the only thing they have to comply with are state regs along with no discrimination etc as defined by federal laws.

Depends on what state you were hired in, and whether you have a contract or not. Most states are "AT WILL", meaning the relationship can be terminated by either party for just about any reason. If you have a contract (read, if you are a uniion member) then they usually have to abide by that.
-
You probably should contact your state labor relations board, and ask a specific question. If you actually are wrongly terminated, there are remedies. Usually it will require the hiring of an attorney.
Good luck. -
Employment regulations vary state to state . Not only are some states "at will " states where they can terminate you and not have to give a reason but some employers include an agreement with your hiring papers that you sign agreeing they may terminate you at any time . Labor laws protect you from wrongful termination in some cases like when you are fired for refusing to violate HOS .

OK - more detail. I worked for Covenant. They deducted from my pay to have my dog aboard. I was hired out of Florida. After 11 months with them they canned both my partner and me at the Indy terminal. My partner was told if we chose termination over resignation they would screw up or DACS. She chose resignation, I chose termination as resigning screws me out of unemployment compensation. They gave me enough money for a bus ticket, knowing I had a dog and that a dog could not be taken on Greyhound, and basically told me 'eff yer dog!' We #### near froze to death the first nite trying to hitch a ride from the Indy flyin hook. We wound up tumbing 1000 miles to get home.

A lot depends on the reason they wanted you gone. If you aren't comfortable in posting this, I can understand that. But you really might want to check with your SLRB.
Considering who the employer was, they probably screwed her DAC over anyway. -
I forgot to mention. This termination was on the heels of the ice storm that fubared Ky. Temps were sub-zero i Indy at the end of January. I wasn't kidding when I said that me and the dog #### near froze to death. I fell asleep on top of the dog. A manager at the hook woke me up and fed me some hot chocolate to warm me up.
