I screwed up ..how bad is it??

I work part time hauling from kamloops to vancouver .Friday , Sat and Sunday .I only drove to Van on Saturday and would spend the night to get unloaded first thing Sunday morning .Anyway out of laziness and stupidity i would only fill out my log book for Sunday , as if i drove down Sunday and did my drop and pickups and back home .I pulled into the Alex Fraser scale and the guy pulled me in , i was bob tailing as i just get unloded and dump the trailer on Friday .Anyway i had not totalled my hours on one day , the lady in there starts chewing me out and phones my boss as i tell her i only work part time ..i guess she didnt believe me .Anyway the boss says i work Fri, sat ,Sun and occasionally Mond. Well i told her i go down on Sunday only instead of spending the night down there on sat in the truck , she flips out and charges me with two log book offences and this one scares me ..obstucting a peace officer , 800 bucks in fines .The fines i am not worried about , i was an idiot and deserved them but how will the obstructing a peace officer effect my licence .My licence has always been clean , only a few seatbelt tickets from driving my pick up .Will this screw me up for future employment?? Anybody have experience with this ??
Thanks for any help or info .

I wouldn't think so. But that's just my opinion.

Hell, most small companies would give you a trophy for what you did LOL and a raise

But I do have a question for you. Why would you even do this? It's not like you were going to run out of hours.

I can't for the life of me, see any benefit derived from what you did.

Personally, I would go to court. And see if the Judge would be willing to reduce the charge to something less impacting. It won't change the fine. But it could weigh less on your record.

Be sure to go to court and challenge the citation. Better yet hire an attorney to represent you.

Drivers usually convict themselves with their own mouth.

A ticket is an accusation until you plead guilty to it. THEN it goes on your MVR.

In most cases the attorney will contact the prosecutor and will try to come up with a plea agreement before court. Normally an increased fine for a non moving violation or charge that will not affect your mvr or job.

I am trying to see where you obstructed a peace officer? you gave the information you had, you didn't attempt to stop her from calling your boss, your boss gave the same info you had already given. Is there more to this than you're telling for you to be obstructing her in any way?

I told her i didnt work the saturday that i came down and did the whole day Sunday .My boss didnt know i did this so he told her i work Saturdays , so she accused me of lieing and then went nuts , i mean literally nuts , yelling at me asking if the other DOT inspectors heard what i said , even they kind of looked like huh whats going on .I did lie about the saturday and like someone else asked me why i just didnt fill it out correctly and i cany answer ..just stupid .
I just am worried about the Obstruction charge , i guess i am hoping i can get the charges reduced .I have no problem with the fines , i clearly deserve them , but what i am worried about is how will future employers look at the Obstruction charge on my abstract even though it is clean as of yesterday .

Angry

Yeah, you can't stand in front of the phone and prevent her from using it. That would be obstruction. You can't grab her by the lapels and lift her 3 feet off the floor while breathing hot breathe into her face. You must have done something to warrant an obstruction charge.

Technically I don't think the obstruction would show on MVR anyways it would show on Criminal background check since not vehicle related....

She was probably being visited by her aunt flow and was having a really really bad day and that is why slapped on the obstruction charge.. but going to court would be the best since can always point out regular sched days are Fri,sat,Sun .. but this particular weekend you actually didn't work Sat and doubled work for Sun and the boss was not aware and was just stating your "normal" working days.....

Either way it still wasn't a smart thing ta do but at least you admit to being wrong in your actions

Lying to an officer in an investigation is obstruction. She was investigating you and you fales logs and you lied. There by obstructing her investigation. GUILTY.

It won't affect your DMV record but it will go on your criminal record if found guilty.
