Hi. I'm 20 and was thinking about being a truck driver as a career but had a dwi when I was 16, reduced to driving without a licence and. careless and imprudent when I was 18, reduced to an improperly attached muffler. Reading on here it seems like i'm pretty much screwed. Or does the fact that it's reduced matter, also that it will be years away?
Thanks, I really wondering about this.
sorry if it's a common thread.
Driving history.

I would pull a copy of your MVR if I were you, and also pull a copy of your criminal record.
See if it shows up or not
Do this before you apply to any company. If it does not show up anywhere then you should be ok.
Also, you cannot drive a truck interstate till you are 21 and most company's will not take you till at least 23. So you have time. If you really want to drive now you will have to find someone local that will take you, and realize that intrastate will give you 0 experience in the eyes of over the road company's.
Knowing that.
If I was 18-20 and wanted to get into trucking I would get my Class B and drive for a local company. Driving mixers, dump trucks or whatever. Then when I was old enough to get a job with an over the road company go to school and get my A, since the company's will make you anyway. So why pay for a class A driving school twice.kickin chicken Thanks this. -
I'll probably do that. sucks I was stupid, it looks like real good money. back to 9-5 ucgh.
