As an old song said "people get ready". If you haven't read the whole sight yet better get to it. It's on this thread twice so no need for a repeat.

We won't be trying to hide equipment problems any more because if we don't have the company fix the problem before we roll it WILL count on the driver safety rating and the carrier rating. ALL the safety rules that are in existence are going to be used in the rating system and the ones that affect crashes are going to be weighted more heavily into that system. Also the older transgressions will be weighted less than current ones. That means anything you get caught on from this point forward is going to affect your rating starting next year and anything you've been caught doing for approx the last 20 months is going to affect your rating also. If a driver falls to an "unfit" rating he will not be eligible to drive until enough time has passed to get him up to a "marginal" rating. If a driver wants to use inventive logging he probably can still get away with some of it but anything that ties his time to the book had better line up or his safety rating will fall. And the company will also have a problem much more so than right now. Read everything on the sight carefully. It's coming now; a state by state roll out next year!

What I haven't been able to figure out is how it will affect the O/O's; the way I read it after two readings they should be able to get away with more than the company drivers and large carriers. If that's true the big carriers will want the 0/0 violations weighted more heavily to even the score. But if the opposite is true than the O/O's are going to have to scream bloody murder to get their violations weighted less heavily! Any one besides me see any problems developing with the O/O situation? Read it First, Read it well, Understand it well; The company you save could be your own as well as the job you save could be your own for a long time to come.

IMHO it sounds like it will be a fair system that will take a lot of violations to get a driver declared "unfit". As I read it,a driver will know on a monthly basis what his rating is and will be warned when he/she reaches a "marginal" rating and be required to receive safety training starting at that point so they do not end up being classified "unfit". In other words the bums are gonna get thrown of the game and those who want to be professional will be given the opportunity to reach that level of expertise BUT.............only time will tell.

Thomas0810, An overweight citation is included as a roadside inspection violation, even if it's just a warning.

YOUR activity on the highway, i.e. roadside inspection violations, accidents, tickets, even warning tickets will have a negative impact on your personal safety rating

Thomas, would you post what you have found?

I graduate in early March 2010 and although I won't have anything negative or positive on my 'reports' I will have to understand how to work within this new system.

Quit asking and go here! This is the governments site but Goggle CSA2010 and there is another web site listed before the governments by a company who is helping out and they have a better to understand read than the governments!
    http://csa2010.fmcsa.dot.gov/

And to reply to the above it won't matter if you are an O/O L/P or company. We are ALL looked at not just the company anymore. We drivers used to get by with out paying for the falsified log books (unless the company fires your arse!) Now it's your job security! I guess "keep it legal and road worthy" means more now that what we used to get away with! I guess if you can't afford to keep it legal then you better learn real quick how to ask "do you want to up size those fries?" Because us outlaws will be the first to go once csa2010 gets going on a roll!

i have been there a few times and like i have asked for at least 3 times i would love for someone to copy and paste the sentences and from that website where it says exactly word for word that overweight citations and warnings will be included in all these new safety regulations because as i have said more than once i have read the subject matter from the website that people here keep directing us to and do not see anything about overweight tickets being included in that.SO IF YOU CAN PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THE SENTENCES TO THIS FORUM WHERE IT SAYS WORD FOR WORD THAT OVERWEIGHT CITATIONS WILL AFFECT THE DRIVER UNDER THIS NEW POINT SYSTEM THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.THANK YOU
