Well ROTO I ain't crying I just asked a simple question. It's also not for anyones use at our company because they scan our logs and the computer will automatically tell them if there is a violation. As far as a company requirement no I already checked. But thanks anyway.

I do it for completeness' sake, and for the very simple reason that if the info is right there in front of Mr DOT, he is less likely to go on a fishing trip thru the other 7 pages. (Yes I tear out pages older than that. No point giving any more info than required, besides I file them at home).

I used to fill out the recap, but then I decided that I know how many hours I have available so it doesn't matter.

Most of the logbooks I've ever held had those stupid little lines for the recap. After several/many OOS back in my first 10 years, I grew out of that childish "super trucker" mentality and I started doing a recap and oh my guess what? I started figuring when my hours were going to die.

I guess I'm not smart enough to remember that stuff in my head but put it in writing I can. OH Yeah, it'll take a few minutes out of a lot of these poor over worked drivers that can't afford a few minutes to do something that could save them a TON of money down he road and especially those who just have to argue moot points and think they can push DOT and their employers!

Me I'll just "waste" a few minutes of my life to keep my life simple! Ink really doesn't cost much either and is tax deductible!

I will not and have not ever filled out those things. I am capable of knowing exactly how many hours I have without it.

Probably not, since all of the companies I have worked for left it off the page.
