Right now the only way to get a compliance audit is:

    1:A fatality accident

2:Employee complaint (It takes a lot of complaints for that one to work)

3:You have enough OOS violations to get "On the radar"

    4:You request one.

5:You're authority is new and they do a preliminary investigation after about a year if man power is available.

Now this data base will compile all violations.Companies and Drivers that consistently receive citations will now pop onto "the radar" where as before it took serious infractions to garner a harder look.

I found it interesting that the head of one of the Pilot states said that companies that they considered safe showed the largest citation ratio. While those considered unsafe actually had a better over all track record on inspections.

As I said before there is not one new rule in this program.Everything they are enforcing is exactly the same laws we should have all been following already. This is simply a data base showing who is doing their job and who is not.

I really don't see why some have such a major problem with it.I had 6 inspections last year. Not one citation.

But those that complain are the same one that are convinced that all officers are personally out to hurt drivers. Most of those can not compile 150,000 safe miles(a year) and call million milers "lucky".Here is a secret, luck has nothing to do with it.It is a skill set, planning, execution of duties, discipline, and attention to detail that earn you 1,000,000 accident free miles.

This is about removing those that can not reach 150,000,and the companies that continue to employ them.

From CSA 2010 Public Listening Sessions:
    http://csa2010.fmcsa.dot.gov/listeningSessions/

Under CSA 2010, individual drivers will not be assigned safety ratings or safety fitness determinations

Other Agency initiatives are underway, including the Pre-employment Screening Program (PSP)
-PSP was mandated by Congress and is not a part of CSA 2010
-"Driver Profiles" from FMCSA's Driver Information Resource (DIR) will be available to carriers through PSP
-Driver Profiles will only be released with driver authorization

Seems to me the answer is in you all. As drivers stand united against the gov. and the companies. Seriously, what is wrong with the people of this country. We have sold ourselves to the companies, or should I say prostituted, and we have done the same with our country. I fear everyday about what we are all loosing, I fear for my grandchildren.

I wish we could get more than 2 drivers to agree on anything. Just post any question here and see how many different responses you get. It's even worse if you ask the same question on the CB radio!
As to what we are losing everyday, you are right! Everyday more of our rights are taken away, CSA2010, the Patriot Act, etc... Soon we will be worse off than the former Soviet Union. What's the real tragedy is people are so eager to give up their freedoms!

While I would agree with your appraisal of the "patriot act",what correlation do you see between that and CSA2010. All this is about recording your record into a data base. That record comes from inspections incurred in the performance of your duties. No one is launching an investigation into your private business. This will be a compilation of data about who is performing their duties and those who are not.We face these inspections with or without the new data base. The only thing it accomplishes is making checking a carriers and drivers record easier. This is the Federal Government doing one of the few things it should be doing.Regulating interstate trade and cartage must fall under the Federal Government.Without those rules the roads become the wild west. Run til ya wreck em,what flat tire, what missing lights, deliver it or else driver......... Yeah that's the type of industry we need. Then after the feeble minded wipe themselves out we can start over.

Basing that off of the driver's that said "We won't take this crap" and quit. They were the same drivers with out of service violations,a couple with striking fixed object preventable's, and three that constantly recieved time off for log violations.

Your experience may be different. But I will stand by my statement that if you are following the rules this will not affect you!:biggrin_25525:

:biggrin_2557::biggrin_25523: Was thinking on this; maybe he was laid off M.D. on that health care of yours, by the writing of the prescription (report I mean) to fix the light!! Poor person probably reports to some one & has to show their worth by so many write ups per week etc!! Could be true; unfortunately, especially out that way where you where. You need to pay more attention to detail !!!!!!????????:biggrin_25514: So funny if it was not so SAD. MNR. God Speed.

As much as I have to admit it Mike_MD is right in my book. As a former LEO and currently unemployed driver (Because of a Maryland Roadside Inspection). Although it hurt, the inspector I dealt with (Sgt Pierce MD State Police - I-83 SB Scales) was right in his inspection. He wrote tickets on only a few of the many violations on my truck. While speaking with him on the phone a few days later I realized that my company was among one of the worst violators of DOT regulations in existence SAFESTAT of 99.73!!. This caused me to leave the company, Even though I have a great MVR. One minor speed, with no points. I am wondering how hard it will be when I start applying for jobs again. I am going back to school. But I am still worried.
