Thanks wasn't 100% but that's what I did splitting can be a good tool exp. In my situation there had 8 but then needed fuel I would of been in violation if I had to log 10 uninterrupted hrs. The for helping me understand this

Actually good to way to bring unneeded heat from 5.0. Proper trip planning and keeping left door close wont need to split the log.

Lol yea because I can control the weather in the northern hemisphere, it has been 20 below 0 without windchill and I fueled down south with number 2 and only had additives in tank it started to gell I had to get some number 1 and fresh fuel in the tanks.. As for unwanted heat (5.o) if I logged it legal as I did I ain't scared you might be but if it's legal I got no worries and certainly ain't scared to use it ...but thanks and I plan my trips pretty well, as I've read and read there have been several instances where this split logging has helped and kept people rolling when otherwise unable.. but thanks just because it's not right for you don't think that it's not right for everyone else...keep on trucking

If you don't want heat on your paper logs... be very neat. And... a properly executed split break in your seven days will usually bring a level 3 to a close in a big hurry. If you do that right, they're not going to dig very much because they understand you know what you're doing.

    You're fine.

The 8 hr sleeper break extended your 14 to 7:00 am on 1/8, and you still had 3 hrs of drive time to work with when you shut down.

    G535600 Thanks this.

Can a driver use the split if one of their breaks is 10 hours or longer?

If your break is 10 hours or more why use the split sleeper? You reset at 10.

Running a continuous 8/2 split would not be of practical use for most people anyway, aside from being confusing. It should only be used on occasions when your normal 14 would leave you stranded on pick or drop. Normal 10 hour breaks should be resumed at earliest convenience.
