Gdyupgal, I would like to talk with you sometime. I start with Power fuels on April 18th. It would be nice to get some insight from someone like yourself who is there working. I tried to send a PM but no luck, Seeing hows I only read and never post. Thanks

rallen...thanks for the offer. I'm actually already up here in ND and working for a local company out of Alexander hauling oil. The company name is Heggen Trucking...they are a small company which I like, the owner is a great guy, do anything for his employees! I came here with no experience but that was no worry for him...they have a very good trainer. I know he just mentioned he is looking for more drivers because things are starting to get busier and there is more and more oil to haul. I can send ya IM if you want the info or you can get the phone number by looking up the company off the internet. Good luck!
pyro...just curious whats funny about an owner op needing a little help getting trained? everyone has to start somewhere and not everyone came out of the womb with oil field experience. -
bdales30 I would like the info. I have been doing a lot of checking around and you and gdyupgal have been great about offering info. Its good to get it from someone that is there and knows what there talking about.. 1 more question I have is how hard was it to find housing.

Housing is nearly impossible in and around Williston. Most companies are supplying some sort of housing (rv spot, hotel, shared apt, cot on the shop floor). There are 100's of jobs here so take your time and be picky. If one offers housing and the other doesn't it's a no-brainer where you should go to work. I know some that are offering housing that don't pay as high of wages, but 2 br apts are now going for 1500+/month. Another great site for ND info is www.city-data.com Check out the jobs/oilfield postings there.
RV parks are filling up! Better get here soon!jvar4001 Thanks this. -
Hello - My husband has been a truck driver for 20 years. I have found your forum so informative, particularly the information from Waterhauler, thank you. We have recently discovered that Taylor Companies have an owner/operator program for crude oil hauling. Is there anyone out there that knows anything about this company? Does anyone know someone already leasing with them? We are prepared to move to where the opportunities are - ND, TX but I have also read that there are opportunities to work for Taylor in Denver - we presume that is hauling from Greeley or Rifle. There doesn't seem to be anything out there on Google, good or bad about this company. Thank you so much.

I've just heard the Taylor program is pretty restrictive for the truck owners. I'd check with Diamond B Oilfield Trucking in Plentywood, MT if you looking to get into crude hauling up here. I don't think Taylor pays very well either.

Thank you for replying Ac22. I am going to call them today and see what I can find out. Did you hear that from an owner operator already on with Taylor in ND? How are you doing in Williston? I heard that now is the time for my husband to get on up there. Have a good week.

No problem..I'll message you my #..I absolutly love Power Fuels..they have been a great company to work for and all the employees from office to drivers are all great to work with....and now is a great time to get started with them..lots of work available and not enough drivers or mechanics -
Hello all, this is my first post here on this website. I am a recent driving school graduate. Been driving otr for all of two months now. The company I am working for is pretty good, but I'm pretty sure I want to head up to North Dakota for work.
Been reading through this and other threads about work up in ND. Since this is my forst post, I can't send any IM's yet.
I was thinking about applying to Power Fuels since I've read that they provide housing. I have all endorsements, including Hazmat. Will having one ticket on my MVR in the past three years disqualify me?
Also what is the pay difference between a driver and a diesel mechanic?
These questions are open to anyone, but gdyupgal, since you are working for Power Fuels yourself I would love to hear your input.
Thanks -
