I am pretty much cutting and pasting the same ad I am running in craigslist.
No BS here. What you read is what you get.I run a 3 truck operation and I am currently driving this truck.I have one driver who is excellent and I need a replica of him.My reference is the first driver and any interested applicant can talk to him.I am also an honest operator who wouldn't hesitate to let a driver go without hesitation, as I did a month ago with 2 drivers.
I am rarely on here.Send me a pm.
    Thank you!

How about paying the taxes on driver, not 1099 the poor guy driver.
Give out a health plan and retirement. paid vactions also.
Then you might find a driver.
1099 the poor guy makes it so you do not pay taxes and work comp on the driver.

Is this even legal still in Ga.??

let me first see what kind of driver you are.You have an avatar which indicates you are a heavy haul driver with all the fancy goodies behind you. Then again, you may just be a TMC/maverick company driver who just dreams about having a multi axle double drop with a flip axle.My point is, I doubt you're an O/O since your comments indicates you are an advocate for the drivers.
I also thank you for invading my thread with unrelated stuff.
I was and I am the only small Carrier who had balls enough to respond to reposnes like yours. All the other carriers chicken out but not me.
Do you even know what it costs us small fleet owners to run a trucking business?
    1.2290 5.quarterly estimated taxes

    2.Quarterly IFTA 6.quick pay fees
    3.Drug Consortium 7.unified carrier registration
    4.IRP registration
THE ABOVE IS JUST A THIRD OF WHAT WE PAY TO RUN THIS BUSINESS
Until congress passes a law that says all drivers must be put on w-2, we the Carrier, have every right to decide on how to report Income to IRS.The applicant also has the right to either apply as a contractor or find someone else offering a "package".Congress has not passed this LAW as OOIDA is fighting this in washington.
In this industry there are 2 drivers.
You have the unhealthy or the driver who just needs all the benefits to take care of his family. He then can bypass me and work for the "bigger boys".You also have the chain smoker with a BMI of 50, who needs his sleep apnea machine every night.Drivers like that need to apply with the bigger carriers and not me.

Now you have the other half, who hates the bigger carriers because they don't want to be considered as a truck # and rather by their name. They want a job where they can be personable with the owner, and wouldn't mind a contractor's packet.Tell me how many drivers actually get $1100/week with consistent miles and freight?.I have the freight if a driver wants to work.

For your info, I just hired a driver 2 weeks ago as a result of this ad.I gave the person an option of workers comp. and they declined it since they didn't want anything less than what I am paying. And no, Ga do not require us to have workers comp. with less than 3 trucks.
This position is pretty much filled and when I am ready to put a driver in the truck that I myself is driving, then yes I will offer mandatory workers comp.

You want to be an advocate for the drivers, then go tell that to the bigger carriers who can offer group health insurance at a minimum cost.YES I WILL OFFER YOU THAT AND PAY YOU $400/WEEK.

Well , I am an O/O leased to a company.
The trk. and trl in the pic. are mine..
The trk. is paid for and the trl.I have 19 more monthly payments to make to a bank. Not a trucking company.....

    I am a Ga. "S" corp.
I take out taxes on myself and my wife who works with me.
I have work comp. insurance on both of us..

I also offer paid vacations for both of us.

I am on a salary pay. More than your offer of work comp. and a whopping 400 dollars a week.

I have over the years drove for contractors/ big compaines and myself.
Yes I do speak for drivers when I feel they are getting shafted..

And I also have spoke up to compaines when I feel I'm getting shafted.

But I wish you well in your bussiness and hope the drivers are happy with your company.
That's all I have to say in this matter..

P.S. I do not run flip axles wanna be Heavy Hauler setup.....

"passingthru69", I am already having carpal tunnel syndrome thinking about responding.I believe you have a good gig going and until you hire your wife, rather than doing that partnership, you will "feel" my shoes. If I wasn't getting responses, I would look at my business and what I have to offfer.I will let sleeping dogs lie because I am not the $600/week employer.Tell that to them and not me.

I would like to update this thread, and let readers know what my process is like.I am having a bunch of drvers email me and thinking I hire within a day or two.Hiring a driver should be like a "marriage" between us.I have had my equipment sit without a driver for 5 months and it was still insured. You the applicant, and me the OWNER, should make sure we are both in this for a "long term"..If I cannot dig out some personality traits about you and you cannot have a relationship with me before I hire you, then the whole process will not work. The point is, I do a couple of emails before talking on the phone. If drivers cannot answer 15 questions in an email then I know they refuse to take instructions. My hiring process takes 3 weeks and if you cannot wait, then please do not email me.

Two weeks ago I hired a female driver from this thread.I think she is a keeper. She is doing a wonderful job.2 very good drivers and 1 more to go.
    Thank you for reading.

You shouldn't have to come on here and explain your side of the story, you seem to have a strict hiring process and don't just except any riff-raff off of the highway, it's your business therefore you're entitled to hire the way you want. You seem to have all your ducks in a row, I'm not too sure on how the whole 1099 deal works, but I do know 1,200 a week or so after the driver witholds their own taxes still would comfortably leave them with 850-900, that's more than a lot of us are making out here. I guess the main concern is the workers comp, but I think you earlier noted that you'll provide that in the near future. Good luck with finding that right driver to keep your company moving in the forward direction, they're out there.

I see many ads here from potential employers. They never disclose the pay or their MC.My MC is 680577.My safety rating is not the best but a lot better than many.I am honest as I have revealed the exact pay.The female that I hired is doing a fantastic job and I wouldn't replace any of my 2 drivers with anyone.
I have recieved few email from applicants from here. When I do decide to add more trucks next year I will definitely update this thread.Thank you truckers report.
