The info on a MVR is usually resricted ONLY to information relating to your driving record; tickets, accidents, ect. You can usually get one free at your local DMV.

A DAC record is different entirely. While it contains information of your driving history, it also MAY contain your credit history, criminal background and work related history; including information such as workers comp claims and reason for discharge from employment, even if these "histories" are not true.
There have been several cases recently, where a driver found someone else's CRIMINAL BACKGROUND History attached to their file at USIS, and for the most part; correcting these errors has proven difficult, if not impossible.
I discovered (last year) that USIS reported that I was ticketed in Arizona for "Operating a Motor Vehicle With-in 4 Hours of Consuming Alcohol", a TOTALLY frabricated claim. I WAS successful in removing this LIE from my DAC record, but not with-out threats of legal action.

Where do you get your DAC Report??

In an earlier post; Junebug said this:
Quote:
  • Provide your full name
  • Mailing Address
  • Social Security Number
  • The name of the company that turned you down for employment (if applies)
  • Photocopy of your Driver's License and Social Security Card for I.D.
Mail to:

USIS Commercial Services
Consumer Consulting Department
P.O. Box 33181
Tulsa, OK 74153

Or you can call them at (800) 381-0645, and they will tell you everything I just told you

You are entitled to one free DAC report a year and/or turned down for employment due to DAC report. If neither applies to you, don't fret, just pay the $10.00 fee and you can receive one too.

Good luck to each of you,

~Mrs. JuneBug~

P.S. Please disregard any typo's, I'm still downloading the spell check for this forum.

Yup and when it gets lost in the mail your identity is completely gone.

Just so you all know, I am working with an actual service that will fix the DAC reports for truckers. We are in negotiations now on how to go about all of it. He DOES have the service running and this guy knows what he is doing. I'll try and let you all know by this evening, thanks!

I'm using DacFix myself..... $27. for a copy. They seem to be a good company and easy to talk to. Could of probably done it myself but for the price they charged I figured it was a deal.

A sign of the times the DAC report....a nice way for a company to get vindictive on someone if they quit under a cloud and almost ruin their chances to get another job in the trucking industry. As usual something that could be a useful tool for BOTH companies and drivers gets completely mis-used and ends up crapping all over the poor driver as usual!!!

Sample letter you can download and send away for your report:

April 2, 2008

USIS
P. O. Box 33181
Tulsa, OK 74153

Ref: Your name..address etc..here

Attn: Consumer Report Division – DAC Report

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to request a free copy of my Consumer Report (also known as DAC report). I have not requested a copy of my report in the last 12 months. I am presently unemployed and expecting to find a job within the next 60 days.

I have enclosed a copy of my driver’s license and my social security card. Please mail the report to the address listed above.

Thank you for you attention to this matter and I am waiting for your answer.

Respectfully,
