I'm sure they're not the only one, but since that was in my short-term memory, thought I'd pass it along.

Thanks ; I'll check into them.

Well, Knight may not pay $3.00/mile and run chicken-light-festooned KW900L's, but they don't run into Canada as of this moment. Might want to give them a shot.

A misdomeaner will keep you out of Canada as a tourist. A DUI will keep you out of Canada as a tourist. Now that the border crossings are more thorough, people are getting turned back right and left. Most people don't realize that marijuana possession back in college 30 years ago will keep them out. You can apply for a Minister's Approval of Rehabilition to earn your border crossing privlidge back.

I stand corrected.

I also found out that a bad check that was paid will also keep you out. (Not mine)

It wasn't me that was turned away at the border 8 years ago, it was my boyfriend. Let me tell you, that was fun. It was our first vacation together and nothing quite prepares you for the Border Patrol agent coming out of his office telling you that "you are more than welcome to continue into Canada, but he will have to stay behind". It was his misdomeaner burglary conviction from 20 years prior that kept him out. I have since done more research on the subject. That was an eye-opening experience.

Nice way to ruin a vacation. Don't you just love that kind of surprise? NOT

Old misdemeanors

Midemeanors older than 10 years won't keep you out of Canada, save for certain drug, burglary, or sex offenses. At least that is the scoop I got when I went to Canada back in 2002. Felons are banned for life, I was told.

But, according to the same officials at the border, Canada is flexible with misdemeanors. If you have one that is less than 10 years old, you can apply for a kind of special permit. You let them know your circumstances and then they decide to let you in or not. I do know many a baseball, hockey, and basketball player must go to Canada for games. A few of those guys have recent misdemeanors on their records, and they are allowed in through this special app procedure. I don't know how this would work...you'll have to check the Canadian immigration website or a site devoted to Canadian tourism.

Canada is awesome, so if you have to apply to get in, I'd do it. It's worth going up there, at least in the summer. I just wonder how long the app procedure will take. Probably 6 months to a year.

And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

I would use caution with any offense you may have got in U.S.
A childhood friend of mine got a misc. for 3 joints when he was 17,
his parents were divorced, so it was hidden from DAD So at the time of my friends dad retirement, dad bought a beauty 23' center console, sport king fisher. And off they went to Canada, until the ch. point, well they both got a surprise, my friend was question about that incident from 20 yrs ago, DAd was rip roaring, my friend who has a family, maintains the same job for 15 yrs, was very embarrassed, they did get let across the border, but they did lose 5hrs. of fishing time
