They could pay $5.00 a mile, but if the miles aren't there what's the difference?

You obviously do not want to hear the warnings so I am not going to waste my time typing them to you. Just suffice it to say my husband drove for them and no longer does. He drives for a good company now. By the way when he drove for them he was making .41 a mile.........41 a mile times no miles equals no pay.
Enjoy truck stops....you will be sitting at the a lot more than drive. Good day and safe sitting.

I was talking to one of JB's drivers awhile back. He was on the wal-mart dedicated and liked it, Then they cut his miles bad. Said he was only taking home 300 bucks a week. He quit and went back to them and is getting ready to bail from them again.

Sorry for sounding so harsh but I just had someone I know after all I told him about JB Hunt and him seeing what my husband went through fall for a line of BS a recruiter gave him and is now with JB Hunt. He has only been there 2 weeks so I am looking for him to find out the truth.

companys

Well i have never drove for JB but i have freinds that were with them for along time. Some like it some don't some make money some don't. I think with any company allot has to do with attitude. If you go in there and take what they give you for a while and see how they operate and figure out there system because they all have some sort of system they use. Then see how it goes and if you wind up not makeing money or setting allot and keep track of what you do and where you go and then go in and set down with every one involved and shoe them in black and whit what is happening and they don't fix it then you have the right to say ok i tryed you didn't fix it I'm out of here. And by the way SNI is no different than the rest they will lie chaet and steal to get what they want. I was leased to them twice once wasn't enough i had to try it twice before i learned they will flat out lie to you every time you turn around. So if you want to be lied to every time you turn around go to the great pumpkin and be prpaired to sit and run allot of 300 mile short junk some where else besides where you live. They are real good at getting some one on the oposite side of the worl and run them regional and redesign the country to fit there needs. To them chicago is the midwest and the west starts and ends there. And if you want to run long haul forget it coast to coast freight goes on the train or a C team.

My co-driver drove for JB for about 3 months. The miles were ok, but he was doing their intermodal runs. Problem he had was all the runs were in and out of Chicago and the longest was about 500 miles. He likes longer runs so he can get into a routine. He didn't just quit them, he took a leave of absence for a family emergency and then didn't go back. Don't know what they put on his DAC about it, but at least they can't accuse him of abandoning equipment, quitting under a load or any of the other things they tend to do when you quit. Be cautious of their 'how's my driving' policy. Any yahoo 4 wheeler can call on any type of garbage and it is put in your file. They will tell you that it doesn't mean anything, but if they want to get rid of you, they will use that to justify it. Co-driver had one call, some woman said he wouldn't let her merge onto the freeway and cut her off. They put it in his file as a preventable incident -- even though it was in downtown Chicago, during rush hour and snowing. After he complained, they changed it to unpreventable, but just be aware of the type of things they do. They will test you to see what you can and will do at first (most companies do) so make sure you know what you will and won't do before you start and be prepared to live with the consequences. If you constantly tell them you're out of hours, they will leave you sit alot. If you constantly run illegal, they will expect you to do that all the time. If you make sure to plan your time well in advance, then you should do ok. Also, as with most companies, it is crucial that you have a good dispatcher and develop a good rapport with him or her. If you do that you should do OK. Good luck and watch your behind.

Having a good attitude is always beneficial but sometimes it isn't enough. When you do all that they ask and you still don't get miles or when you have concerns they give you the run around it's time to pack it in. I'm sure there are some who don't mind low miles or having stories switched around on them but I think most drivers would prefer being home a paycheck. And if you want to give them a try I hope you fair well..But most of all please please please! DO NOT BE TALKED INTO THEIR LEASE PURCHASE OPTION PROGRAM.

Last I checked, it is the merging drivers responsibility to yield. The fact they even took the complaint tells me a lot about the company.
