    Hey guys,

My name is Turner and I work with a team of three other individuals in the safety department at Trans-Continental Systems. Below is an ad that I use for most things that briefly explains what our company has to offer. Normally I leave it there but this forum also seems like the place to simply lay out the fact that TCS is a decent sized company that still manages to maintain great relations throughout the whole fleet. I know there are a lot of options for an operator to choose from as far as transportation types and companies go which tends to be a bit overwhelming but if you have a bit of time one day on your thirty minute break or while shutting down for the day I would love to have a phone conversation. Ads only go so far and only list so much, let me and my co-workers fully explain to you how TCS operates and what we have to offer both company and owner operators.

    Regards,
    Turner Seal

Trans-Continental Systems, Inc. (TCS) is a family owned business that has been hauling freight since 1984. We have a strong focus on customer service and dependability, this shows in our excellent lanes which allow our operators to get home multiple times a week. At TCS we find that if all parties are happy and making a profit there tends to be more room for growth and mutual respect. At the end of the day we work to live, we don't live to work and that is shown in the commitment we have to getting operators who sign on with us the miles they need and the home time they want.

    Job Description:

    • No-touch Intermodal freight
    • Consistent lanes out of Cincinnati, Chicago, Louisville and Toledo
    • Run to and from the Chicago rail yards (G4, Yard Center)
    • Be home during the week and on weekends
    • 2800-3200 average miles per week
    • More than enough freight to keep you running
    • Lease-purchase options to buy your own truck
    • 1-day orientation, then dispatched

    Qualifications:

    • Required to have a valid Class A CDL
    • Required to have a minimum of 1 year over the road experience
    • A desire to make good money.

    Compensation:

    • Earn up to $0.40 per mile as a Company Operator
    • Earn up to $1.51 per mile as an Owner Operator

    Additional Money You Can Earn:

    • Driver referral bonus - up to $2400 per year for every referred driver
    • DOT Roadside Inspection Reward Program - $100.00 for every roadside passed without any HOS violations or OOS vehicle violations
    • $0.05 Bonus per mile for ALL miles (once you reach 2,550 miles per week)
    • Safety bonus, quality and loyalty, operation packages and sign on bonus for Owner Operators

Is your hiring area within the stated lanes or just from those metro areas?

    Hey Sevenmph,

Great question! For Owner Operators it is really up to them if they think their location works with our route. If an O/O lives to far outside of our lanes it might not be worth the travel time/fuel when they go home unless they decide to stay out for longer periods of time. We want our operators to get home as much as possible because our lanes can support it but we also have the freight to stay on the road if you want.

For Company Operators the situation is a little different. Due to the fact that we want to both ensure the trucks are reaching the miles needed in order to be productive and be located at a safe location when not being operated we tend to only look for Company positions in Chicago, Cincinnati, Louisville, Indianapolis and Toledo. For Louisville, as an example, we want company tractors parked in our drop lots. If you want to drive into the city we have no issues with that, I have a gentleman who lives 50 miles out and has no problems.

Trans-Continental Systems, Inc. is looking for operators who want to work with a company who they can hold accountable. TCS is a medium sized fleet which prides itself in the quality of dispatch and safety team contact we have with our operators. The same way you want a company who is not just looking for a fast dollar but a long, lasting relationship with all of its operators we want drivers who are willing to meet us half way. Reliability, dependability and consistency is something which describes this company and what we look for in drivers who apply.

I'm not going to lie, having conversations is my personal favorite part of my job. Do me a favor and give me a ring, worst thing that happens is you get stuck on the line for five minutes before managing an escape!

Maintenance is near and dear to our heart here at TCS. Our fleet consists of 2013 and 2014 Peterbilt 386's because we recognize that a truck which is not running is not making anyone money. When you hop in a TCS truck you know you are getting in a reliable tractor which will get your load where it needs to be and you home. Rob who heads up our maintenance department keeps in contact with every single company operator to stay up to date on what the truck needs to stay at top performance. Give myself or any one of my co-workers a call to talk a little bit more about what our business and lanes look like and so we can answer any questions you have.

Sometimes making it home in this industry can be tricky. Companies want you to stay out for weeks at a time and if you refuse you just don't seem to get the miles you need. Trans-Continental Systems regional lanes might be the answer to that situation. We run from Chicago to Louisville, Cincinnati and Toledo. Operators in Chicago, Louisville and Toledo tend to get home every single night as long as they have no hours of service issues short of their destination. Cincinnati operators tend to get home 1-2 days during the week and on weekends. Not only is this our typical home time but miles average 2850+ across the board!

If you want more home time while still bringing home great pay checks give us a call so we can tell you more about what our lanes look like and what we have the offer both company operators and owner operators.

Trans-Continental Systems has been through quite a bit. We started as a family owned business back in 1984 and 30 years later we stand for the exact same principles as the company was founded on. The operators who run the lanes are the life blood of the business and are what allow the company to continue to grow and add more desirable lanes as time goes on. We continue to look for the best operators to fill the needed roles in our freight system and love when drivers come to us saying how "I heard about you from a friend" and "some of your operators spoke well about you". There is no higher compliment than that and it is what we strive for on a daily basis.

Give me or my team a call today so we can give you more information and answer any questions you might have. Worst case scenario is you get me and not Brandi!

Commitment to open communication and trusted relationships are pretty big over at TCS. We are constantly on the phone on two-way conversations with our operators doing our best to make sure everyone is on the same page avoiding any confusion. We value the fact that our lines are always open and that, despite our decent sized fleet, we all know each other by first name. We even have a large safety meeting in Louisville coming up in the fall. We are not organizing it because we need to but rather because some of our operators cannot make it to our home terminal as much as others and we want to both see them and have face to face conversations about where the company is going. We'll be discussing both the strengths the fleet is showing and the weaknesses we need to improve on. At the end of the day we wake up in the morning in order to take care of our families, at TCS our family just happens to be most of the company.
