Zimmerman and PGT come to mind immediately. That area is full of steel haulers, mostly running the corridor east to west.

PI&I is the one I couldn't think of. I knew there was one in Sharon Pa, but couldn't remember the name.

Path hauls steel. I hear hit or miss reports on them. They have been advertising there rear ends off lately. Starting to haul nation wide and buying some dry vans. With exp you would start around .38 per mile and home weekends.

Also NBS trucking hauls steel still. I hear they are really picky who they hire though.

Any idea on how many miles a week? 2500 miles x.38cpm would be $950 a week...very hard to beat that when you are hauling steel. I worked at Zimmerman for 2 years and only made over 1k four different weeks. The best week I had, I ran 4,136 miles and grossed $1,102. My average gross pay was about $715 a week. So maybee I'll check this company out. Thanks....

Paths website says less than 1 year exp you get .37,
2-4 is .39, 5-9 is .41

If you have a year or more exp on flatbed add .01 to those.
Not too bad to start at the company. Plus you are home every weekend. So I would expect 2000 to 2500 miles a week max. But ppl I know that use to work there said they will give you as many miles as you can handle. Look up Path Truck Lines.
You may even see me eventually. I am thinking about applying Eather in January or March. I have yet to decide.

I saw a PI&I truck just yesterday bedded down in the K-Mart parking lot. He was hauling ingots.
