Well, they can't pay the drivers much when they have to buy those nice trucks.

Actually, they seek out drivers who want to drive big shiny trucks so badly they'll accept that low cpm. There are guys out there dumb enough to do that, and unfortunately, we even have some here who, given the choice between good pay and a big hood, would jump for the hood every time.

That's exactly it. I'm not out here to impress anyone--I'm out here to make money. As long as the truck's clean, safe and legal, I don't care what I end up driving.

I dont agree, I wouldnt drive some of the junk these companys buy. I dont care for Freightliners either. My truck is always clean and smells good take pride in that. Your truck is you home away from home you might as well like what you drive. I will give up some CPM for a good truck that a can be happy with. I know many cpm is lower than some of the big companys but I have a 06 379 extended hood with 500hp 13 speed and gov. at 80mph. Come on, would you rather run 65mph in a 70-75 speed zone in some Freightshaker POS making more cpm or be able to run 75 and end up making more money anyway.

To all those drivers with all the junk you keep up on your dash board clean that $%^& up, I laugh at these dirtbags with tons of junk all the way across the windshield. I can imagine what your house looks and smells like.

I can see that--to a point. Higher speed, more power and more gears, OK...those are factors I'll consider in my decision. Big hood, chrome, chicken lights and showy paint? You can buy those things if you want to, but don't expect me to take less pay for 'em. You can't see the outside of that beast from where I sit.

Amen to that. I don't want to imagine their houses, if they even have one.

Everything cost money.
If you spend most of your time in the truck then it is worth it to spend some money on it.

Just how much cpm are you giving up?

What is the fuel cost?

It is all about dollars
