More info on Leader express

I spoke to the recruiter and he seemed real rushed. His name was Matt. He told me that they only had two positions available, which I find hard to believe since they put a full page ad in TruckersConnection.

I told him I was interested in the S.W. region which he said was available. And that was the magic Words to my ears, so I gave him my information and history.

Within 7 days he called me back with an invite to attend orientation (at my expense) and said all my credentials checked out and nothing was left to do but a driving test and drug test.

At this point I started asking decision making question about pay, advances, miles, trippack, chain up policy and so on....his primary answer was...that will be covered in orientation. however, these questions were crucial to my decision to attend or not attend orientation.

Disapointed in his answers I decided to call payroll and talk to them. They were absolutely upset that a driver would even dare address them direct and abrubtly ended my call.
A few minutes later Matt called me back and was very upset with me that I dare attempt to make contact with anyone in the company.

So, here is the long and short of them:

they do not pay for:
transportation to orientation
they do not pay for:
orientation
they do not pay for:
a hotel while you are in orientation ( however you can sleep in the lounge)

There are no advances for any reason

They don't use trip pack. You drop your pay paperwork at the terminal when you can.

The only acceptable contact with any other company dept or person is through your dispatcher ONLY!!

In short...my opinion is that a driver is a interuption to them, not a force that drives that company.

Many companies say the are driver driven, but when all the employees can enter the building of freewill and the driver has to use a glass window to talk to anyone.....That speaks louder than words to me, that I am not respected.
