Lol I saw ANOTHER greyhound bus broken down yesterday on the Interstate, had the triangles out and everything. The thing is that I don't know if they know that a PM stands for Preventative Maintenance, lol. They have something else like "eh, fix it when its broken" maintenance.

I had to take a greyhound down to medway ohio for orientation a couple weeks back. The worst part was when we picked up about 15 amish people. They smelled horrible.I couldnt even imagine when thier last bath was.Maybe 2-3 months ago..Our bus broke down 3 times on route 90 in cleveland. The driver went outside the bus in 6 lanes of traffic and started the bus from the back of it.The whole thing was definetly an expirience.Nothing bad to say about the drivers though.I guess they just really want to be home every night.I wouldnt drive a greyhound for $200 an hour though lol. There are to many crazy people out there...If some one could deal with the people and think they could do the job,it wouldnt be a bad job I guess.

I used to ride the bus when airline tickets were expensive about 25 years ago. You could smoke in the back of the bus, as well as on airlines back then. Anyway, the toilet in the back of the bus was horrible. Just one toilet, if you call it that. The bus smelled like whatever chemical they put in the toilet. The floor was wet. I can smell the odor just typing this. The bus stations were weird and the people that seemed to be just hanging around were strange to say the least. I remember the B&W TV's they had attached to chairs, I've never seen them other than bus stations. You could put money in and watch TV. Also the pinball machines in the game room for entertainment.

I agree. Recently I took flight with them Peter Pan people from NYC to Springfield, MA. Talk about some weirdo's! And the other passengers were strange too....all I can say is never again...no way...no how. ![]()

| After the incident where the wacko stabbed the driver numerous times and crashed the bus, Greyhound had a spot on the news, where they were putting a heavy plexiglass box around the driver, but the guy I know said they only did a few. He said it was almost like the news media did the spot, then greyhound quit putting them in buses. My buddy that drives for them, packs a pistol very discreetly. He says in a last ditch effort, if someone tries to harm him or take control of the bus, he'll use it. It's against greyhound policy, but he told me, he'd rather have another job than be dead with bunch of dead passengers.

All the buses I got on had a plastic shield behind the driver.I am sure for people who really wanna be home alot,it might not be to bad.All the buses are automatic, have assigned routes, less paperwork headaches, terminal to terminal runs, and I have yet to even hear of a a commercial bus getting stopped by dot. But,they wear uniforms, supposed to be nice to people, cant listen to the radio, cant use your cell while driving, and are responsible for the lives of a couple dozen people..Not my cup of tea lol.But like alot of other jobs, its a good job to some one out there. But I would imagine you would need to be a special person to drive a greyhound.

they asked if i was over 22, if id been driving more than 3 years, think that was basically it..i have to provide a 10yr work/residency history , copy of my dl, sscard, mvr ..i really hope i get this position...it means more money and experience driving another mode of tansportation...mvr looks good no points but have a suspension that was no fault of mine(got documentation) hope it doesnt count against me
