There are a couple of Trucking Companies out there that have automatics in there fleet, but you have to realize that you will not have that much opportunity to move around in the Trucking Industry. The reason I say that because you will only know how to operate a automatic truck not a 10 speed. Most companies have 10 speeds in there fleet. ................................That is something that you should think about before you go to a company with automatics..........................

Not sure--good question--I prefer the 10 speeds myself. I dunno if i want an auto for climbin mtns. I never drove an auto so i got no clue how nice or not nice they are. Just give me my 10 speed and cruise control and im set! :biggrin_25517:

i drove one for a couple weeks a while back and hated it...

it didnt work great going down mtns, instead of the engine braking effect, it wants to keep truckin...hit the jake and it basicly over revs the engine so you have to really use your brakes

i know the newer ones are getting better, but where is the fun of an auto?

Well I'm used to automatics.Thats all I drove until I went to CDL school and I drove 9 speed and one time I drove a 10 speed. It took some time to get used to but I did it.I probably can do a manual but I prolly would prefer a automatic.
