It a load of crap, I know of a lot of trucking companies in may area, but not a single one will hire a a driver fresh out of school.

There are some very fine small trucking firms out there. Sadly their insurance providers are holding them hostage, obviously.

Good luck Brickman81.
Its cool man, everybody learns something new everyday & thanks. I know that once I get going with this I'm going to need all the luck I can get.

While you can tell I haven't driven yet, I can tell you all I have ever heard about them is bad. A friend of mine drove for them a few years back & says he would rather go back to a desk job then drive for them again.

stay away from werner, swift, jb hunt and yes even schnieder
you will be a number to them, a very expendable number that is
try your best to get into a medium company, better yet a small one

if you do go with a mega carrier watch your third point of contact at all times

How about going to truck stop and ask a few drivers, how they feel about who they drive for ? Don't expect 1 answer to give you good perspective. 1 person might be very satified with the same thing another can't tolerate.......... Some settling might occur during shipping

If it wasn't an hours drive to a truck stop I would be out there asking drivers every day, but with my current job I'm really just not able to do that.
