Who will hire me?

ive had a class A for 8 years. ive been driving strait jobs localy for the last 5.
i am 37 years old.

companys tends to want me too take a CDL school. this is very waistful since CDL school teach you how to get a CDL only. and nothin about being a trucker. so i lack experance for 18 wheelers but have a long term CDL.
i'll agree with a refresher class, OTR training, but not a complete CDL class. $$$$

next problem, is i live in the cursed state of florida. seems nobody wants floridains. most will hire if your over I-10, and few hire if over I-4. i live on SR 70,( Okeechobee ) about 2 hours south of orlando. who will hire me with no experance and live in a no hire zone?

i have no accendent in 9 years.
i have no revokes.
i have no DUI's.
i have 2 minor missdermeaners ( tresspassing , 15 years ago) (disoderly-conduit, 5 years ago).
i have 4 felony arrest , all of whick was dismissed (droped- not proccesed) from 2003, no convitions.

so i have a good drivien record. but i have these damn arrests. sure in a perfect world no conviction means just what it says. but true to life, all see the arrest( and they will), and they trash my applicaion with out a second glace,. who will look past these arrests?

if any anybody things they can work with me, send me a email. or reply as you see fit.

i want a company that can keep me east-buond. hopefuly as a begger i am not too picky. just my experance with prime inc. they kept me aruond cali-denver-texas ALWAYS. there tatic was, keep me away from my home state and i cant ask for home time. i want a company that can keep me east of the rockies.

seems costal is a sub company of comcar. they have no info about hiring requiremnts. normaly this refers to experanced only.

now cypress is right up my ally, even flat-bed ( i have experance).

so this is a very good lead. thank you very much. better a small company like this, then be lost as employee number 245,921. i think you understand that~!

cypress will not hire me for two reasons.

1. i have not drove a 18 wheeler since 5 years. no expernce.( i need to take a CDL school at my own expence,

2, they said if i was arrested for a felony it means i did something, therefore arrest = conviction. ( just like every compnay i tryed to get a job with told me)

Sorry to hear that. You may need to try some of the unfavorable companies to start your career with. They may not be your choice but they might be your only option. Good luck ...

If your felonies were dropped and dismissed why are you mentioning them? How long ago were they?If over 7 yrs get record expunged and eliminate that problem. Check to see what companies are from florida and apply with them or try the bottom feeders, swift, werner,cr england, schnieder. I JUST REMEMBERED...
CONTACT MILLIS TRANSFER ASK FOR JAZZ. THEY WILL MAKE YOU GOTO THEIR SCHOOL. $500 DOWN then take the rest out of your pay check monthly. You will have a 1yr contract But,you'll have a contract with any other company that sends you to school. At least Millis has great training pay & starting cpm. Plus you can goto the Cartersville ,Ga school close by. Try them out and keep us posted. I was going to millis but couldnt do the 3 wks of school at no pay.I had just graduated from cdl school and my unemployment ran out. If it didn't I would be in Cartersville right now on week 2 of school. They run east of the Mississippi up to the northeast.

I had a felony back in '99, at least I thought I did. I honestly never really understood whatever happened in that case, but thought that I remembered being convicted as felony.

So, for yrs I'd been turned down from jobs, because I'd always put that I had a felony conviction.

Anyways, I did my own background check, before applying for trucking jobs, and it seems I don't have any criminal record other than some traffic tickets.

So, I contacted my lawyer that represented me. Said that it was a misdemeanor(bad check) and that it had been dismissed. Then all the sudden I remember it all.

Anyways, I'd do a background check on your own before applying at too many. I don't see how a company can hold a crime against you that u weren't convicted of.

Ill check out mills.
The reason i tell them about the arrests. is becuase they look and they ask me. Nomraly i dont get this far as nobody hires out of okeechobee, floirda. swift sure dont. if they accept my location, they ask do you have any arrests? i reply with, "NO convictions". they ask again "what about arrests, do you have any arrests?" i reply. "Yes, but was all dissmissed". "what was the charges?". i tell them, ~CLICK~.

i have a copy of my backgruond. it says as i tell you, NO convictions, with a few felony arrests that says " NOT PROCCESSED"

ive tryed to expunge my charge. as follows.
1 you can only expunge 1 charge
2 you can not have ANY convictions of ANYTHING, not even a traffic misedermeaner you took to court. record most be prefect.
3 can only do once.

i apllyed and they rejected it, on the gruonds i had a 1993 tresspass with warning.

it wuold be nice if i knew i cuold wait 7 years after the arrests of 2003. and they FALL off my record.
