Who is running good?

Are there any freight carrier out there running good despite the slow down? There seems to be a few companies that never slow down despite the economy---and now is the time to find out who is still strong in the slow times

My company is running pretty well right now, but it's only a 3 truck company with 2 O/Os. They usually have to broker out a lot of their loads because we can't be everywhere at once. I'm home for a few days before I go back out, but I literally did 10,000 miles in 2 weeks. Yes, 10K in this day and age. The only way I could swing it was that it was basically border-to-border and coast-to-coast, and I was only in California for 180 miles and Illinois for about 300.

Granted, I overshot my Mountain Dew budget by about a case, but the $3200 made it acceptable.

The owner says it's starting to get a little soft, but because I live in the center of the country, I shouldn't be affected as much as the other drivers. We run mainly furniture and auto-repair equipment, so the furniture side is slowing down, but since people aren't buying as many new cars, the auto side is going gangbusters.
