What companies hire rookies and train them? I know Schneider is 1 of them.

I have driven probably 1,000,000 miles across America in a 4-wheeler.

I have a ClassB at the moment.

I just applied to Schneider. Maybe they will call me back, after all they said they were hiring for the Houston area when I called them on the phone.

But just incase they don't hire me, are there any other companies that are hiring right now for rookies?

At the very least, stay away from the ones listed in this link, and many more, just read the board here.

There are alot of companies that will train ya, in fact almost too many as they all seem to have their hands out for those federal training funds the feds give them

Be prepared to get bombarded from JBH recruiters as well, once you start dropping online apps. They are relentless and just love to tell you how great they are,,, not!

Thanks for the list.... but that doesn't really help me. I live in the Houston Area, I am a rookie that needs to be trained. I have never driven a 18 - wheeler before.

does anyone here have any suggestions?
I applied to Schneider and they said they would have a recruiter call me back next week.

Good bad companies

Ok . I am a recuiter lowest form of life in this world only thing below is a broker and lawyers , you have to set your own opinion of who is good and bad ....I have guys with Swift that love it , some hate same with every carrier out there not one sizes fits all .....you have to do what you feel is right ....it is your decision .....If you do not like the carrier after 6mo . move on ....but give them and your dispatcher a chance ..you have to proof yourself ....Take a bad load to get a good load ..you have to pay your dues ......with any carrier most guys get all pi -----off and mad quite .....you go to another carrier you have to start over

Thanks for helping out!

I called C.R. England
They said that they would pay for the school (but not pay me while i'm there, which I understand because most of them don't), hotel, but the food was up to me!
Then they said that I would drive with someone for 3-4 weeks, then drive with a team or something for 3 more weeks. making $400 a week. So I would not start to make real money for about 2 - 2 1/2 months.

So i'm not sure I am going to do that.

I just applied to Driver Solutions, and I have to call them tomorrow and talk to them, we'll see what they offer.

Driver Solutions told me that they were currently hiring for USA Transportation can go screw themselves!
They want me to pay to drive to the school, Pay for my food, then after 1 year of service PAY BACK THE COST OF THE SCHOOL!

This is the first company I have seen that says if you finish out the contract you still have to pay us back, but at a cheaper rate!

They can go screw themselves.
