New Century To Relocate and Expand Truckload Operation

New Century To Relocate and Expand Truckload Operation

New Century Transportation will relocate its Martinsville, W.V.-based truckload operation to Chambersburg, Pa.,, to address the rapid increase of business in the region.

The move will create a pool of 150 trailers and 50 tractors immediately adjacent to both established and new volume shippers along the busy I-81 corridor.

New Century will also be combining its truckload and volume divisions under one central dispatch point, to be located at company headquarters in Westhampton, N.J. As a result, all truckload moves will be handled directly under the New Century banner.

All drivers and equipment currently operating under the EPAK brand will be rolled into an expanded New Century fleet. This arrangement will provide customers a single point of contact for both truckload and less than truckload needs, while simplifying billing and customer service http://www.truckinginfo.com/news/new...?news_id=60316

New Century is growing in leaps and bounds! Lets see they started back in 2001 I believe and have been growing steadily ever since. They bought out Rude trucking and converted it to a truckload subsidiary. Then they bought P+P Transport this past year. Now they have a company called E-Pak running as well. All identical colors on the trucks and trailers just different names. Do they also have an outfit called Western Express now too?

I tell you Harry is some kinda businessman! Wonder which company he will buy out next.

It's called Western Freightways and it is out of Denver, CO. They bought that company in 2004 I think. Funny though, I called them Fri April 25th and they no longer have a Truckload Division and no Trucks available. They have a waiting list of people wanting to come on board cause they don't have the Trucks to put them in. BTW; I called just cause I was curious.

Thankyou for the correction. I knew it was Western something or other I had one of them thar brain farts I guess! lol Glad someone knew what I was talking about.

I had not heard the truckload division was dropped. Are you sure about that? Last time I saw their website they were still showing a truckload division with a different pay scale.

Either way Harry is doing a heck of a job growing while others are folding up shop.

Ltl division is where the money is at. Their truckload division gets less pay and after all the buyouts recently (Rude, Western Freightways, P&P, etc) they have alot of disgruntled drivers in the truckload sector.

The comments I have read are the same as what you have heard; They run their butt off.

I tried to get on with them shortly after they opened up but they had more qualified applicants than trucks available so I moved on to my current carrier.

All in all they have pretty decent equipment, apu's, very good benefits package, and higher pay than almost all other outfits (except unions) I have checked into.

If you can get your foot in the door in the ltl side I think you will do well.
