Just like driving for any other large company, you will be a number to them. Miles will almost always be there and they usually maintain there equipment pretty good. Not sure if its the same now but I drove for them three years ago.

It's funny how you say that. It's like that on my job. Go figure. A Firefighter in a big city, putting your life on the line. They treat you as a number.

I received a polite email rejection today for their training, and I'm squeeky-clean.
No experience, but willing to learn.
Wow! Don't I feel special.....

I received a rejection e-mail from Schneider a year ago because they were not hiring in my area. Try other companies and you will get hired on and trained.

I went through their training back in May, been driving for them since June. Naturally I don't have any other trucking companies to compare them to. But, having said that, the only thing I have a gripe with is the fact that the trucks are governed at 60 mph.
That and being able to fuel only at P lots, with the rare exception.
I understand why, but that's no help when you feel like a road hazard, especially when you have to get out in the hammer lane.
Having worked for large organizations in other fields though, I will say that it's not always a bad thing to be treated like a number. If the powers that be don't know your name when they hear it, it usually means you haven't done anything to incur disfavor. I spent 13 years in a very large organization, the US Army, and Schneider is wayyyyyy easier to get along with
I'm sure there are drivers that have had, and continue to have problems at Scheneider, no comapny is a good fit for every driver.
They keep me rolling, pay me on time, accurately. I've yet to have a problem getting TAH when I ask for it. They do not want me running illegal, more than once I've called in after getting a load I couldn't do legally and the load planner switched things around and sent me an apology. I still got a load, didn't have to sit and wait.
Are there better companies out there? I don't know, no data to go on. But so far Schneider is treating me ok. Unless things change, I'd reccomend them.

After serving with Uncle Sam there's not to much you can't deal with. Thing's
that's hard to some is easy to those who served. I served in the US Navy which
is why i like the travel. My Aunt just retired from US Army after 20 years. Thanks
for the info.

You know what I love about Schneider? I don't work for them and never have. I live in a dead area to them. Yet in there wisdom they still send me recruitement letters and cards about 1x month for the last 5 years. Being an O/O wouldm't mind giving them a shot especially now that O/O's can cherry pick the loads they want with them. I thought at first that the O/O's were getting the dregs but spoke with a O/O leased to them and they showed me that they really do get the pick of all unassigned Schneider freight. so I was impressed by that. I can run where I like as long as theres freight. But back to the same problem I live in a NO HIRE state. Oh well.
