who is they?
You mentioned "THEY".. who are they? your DM, FM or shop? you could have taken the load and stopped by a scale house for a courtesy inspection... kind of mentioning off the record the front end... if DOT finds a problem they will shut you down till problem is resolved.... remember... you are behind the wheel... it is your life that is on the line... you are driving with the public all around you... you must think safety first at all costs... no sense going to jail just to please your DM...

What a great idea. It takes the whole confrontation issue out of the picture. You are one smart driver there cc194217.

NOTHING is "off the record" at a scale house. taking a vehicle on the road that you KNOW is unsafe and intentionally trying to get YOURSELF in trouble with the authorities is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard!
if you get behind the wheel, it's YOUR truck. YOU'RE responsible for it. NOT your dispatcher, terminal manager, mechanic, president of the company. YOU, the driver are responsible for it. this is the purpose of a pretrip inspection. when the truck breaks down and you have a wreck, and the investigation shows that something broke that should've been detected during a pretrip, good luck with your argument "well, the company MADE me drive it!"

This is a two year old thread. I'm guessing he found something by now.
