The Good and The Bad!

So-

You read and read and..........(drawn out)..read about the "Starter" companies. You know, the companies that hire any old Joe, Billy, Bob, Sally, Larry and Jerome to haul their freight around for nearly nothing all while totally screwing up a log book that was doomed from the beginning. I'm looking for a list of companies, or 2 that i can do a bit of research on while I contemplate leaving my local job for the "lifestyle" I enjoyed. Seriously though- I have some experiance, and really want to find a decent company. PS- All midwest/west coast dedicated's to NYC please feel free to respond!

Good luck. I am finding it harder and harder to find a decent company. They are more and more falling into large and small companies. The large companies are your starter companies They prefer rookies or inexperienced drivers cause they have to pay them less. Small companies on the other hand are finding themselves in a bind. Drivers dont want to work for free and with skyrocketing fuel and truck expenses its harder and harder for them to maintain equipment and pay you what you deserve. Thats why so many companies of a 100 trucks or more are listed on the bad company page and noone really says this company or that company is doing great. Best I can offer you is look for the best you can find and GL.

good companies

there are good companies out there. I work for one. But as a rule we do not hire newer drivers. my boss has nice equiptment, older but in good shape. and he wants to keep it that way, as a result we hire drivers with over 5 yrs exp. and no mvr dings. they don't look at your dac. I know its an exception to the rule and I fell in a big pile and came out smelling good but thats the luck of the draw. If you feel like moving, send me a pm
