| No Recent Experience Can anyone help me find a trucking company that doesn't require recent experience (6mo,last year,etc)? I have over 20years driving, 12 or 13years OTR with no accidents, moving violations or logbook violations. My CDL-A is current, just haven't driven for last 9 years. I live in central Florida. |

| Good luck,I'm in the same boat. I live just south of Tampa and can't get a call back from no-one. It looks like you have to pay to go back to school and start again from the bottom up. Good luck... |

| It will be hard. My dad has over 30 years, mostly OTR, and if he wanted to get back into it, he would have to go back to school and start at the bottom too. It's crazy sometimes. The biggest culprit is insurance companies.

| Welcome to the trucking industries NEW cash cow. I done the same thing...but not near as long a break. So what if you have 20 years experience. You are now a newb in need of schooling/training. They want that certificate. So you have found the $700-$6000 blunder that will enrich any company you decide to go to, for the next 1-10 years. Depending on whether you stay long enough to pay it back...or not. Your best bet. A Community College, for a refresher course. Then onto the big leagues, with a trainer who may or may not have 6 or more months experience....total.

| You might be better off, being as your Ex-2 years. They may only ask you to second seat for a few weeks. But don't hold your breath. I drove while suspended for a few years (long story) then took off a couple of years without ever renewing or correcting the suspension error of my CDL. And that sucked big time...let me tell you. $$$$$$$ I look for them to place even further restrictions in the future. Off the job for 6 months ??? Well then....you need to take a $15k refresher course...Mr Truck Driver.

| Ah these days they teach you alot, what the heck 6 months youll be a profeshinal trainer. |
| |||
| Well, you could also find a smaller regional company. Say, less than 100 trucks, they might hire you to drive regionally, and from there you can build some recent experience. |
