I am just curious if there are any drivers on here who have driven for Halliburton (or a similar company) overseas. If so I would like the chance to hear some of what all the job requirements were, payrate, and also what you thought of the job overall.

I drove a flat bed semi in Desert Storm 1990. I was Army, but got to know a lot of the contractors. They made a lot more and lived better than we did. There was a Utube link I think on here that showed a convoy that got attacked. The guys truck broke down and he hid in the sleeper and had his camcorder going. I would think long and hard about doing something like that. Americans are not liked in that part of the world for the most part. They want you there when they need you, but are quick to forget they wanted you when they felt they needed you. When I was there 2 contractors got captured. They was from some army depot in the States, just can't remember which one red river or something like that. I don't know if they were ever released.

The money is good, but what good is money if you are not alive to enjoy it? You are under military escort, but there is only so much that they can do. I go to the port in houston and there is a lot of halburton trucks there. If you get in that area maybe some of them can help you.
