Go-To Trans out of Saginaw/Bay City appears to be hiring. I keep up on job openings in the West Branch, Saginaw/Bay City/ Midland areas. If you pm me, I'll give you the job hunting service I use. I can't gaurentee the accuracy, but it may help.
How about Stone Transport out of Saginaw, you do need doubles/triples and HM on your CDL, but it's not that big of an affair to get them. Stone will give you time to get it as well. Maybe a draw back for you, I don't know, but Stone does a lot of Canada, and you must be FAST/CTPAT acceptable.:biggrin_25525:

Not really sure what Obama has to do with it though, our state was being raped looong before he was even in the running. I'm with Schneider now, and no complaints at all, but yeah it's rough here, and I don't believe any end is in sight.

    iamazhr Thanks this.

Maybe nobody wants to hire you is because youre what companies call a job hopper. Youve driven for 3 companies in 2 years. Good luck

Could be, may not be. I've been with four big companies in nearly three years.
Michigan is a very tough place to find any sort of employment.

Not trying to start a flame here, but you sure seem to have a lot of answers for a wannabe.:biggrin_25525:

I started with swift $0.27 cpm moved on to better pay with JB $0.40 cpm then moved to even better run and better home time with Arnold , what is so wrong about that.

it looks like you have understanding problems, what I said is I could not find job in flint MI & I did not say no body wanna hire me, got it? the companies I've called I asked them if they hire from the area I live in & they said NO, they did not ask me how many jobs I have had or how old I'm, so understand the ####### question before start typing like an idiot.

iamazhr, I'll put it to you like this.... What I am sure BoostedTeg meant was that to other companies you represent someone who will leave them at the first sign of trouble. I know where you are coming from, I don't knock a guy for doing better for himself. But in this day and age companies are being so darn picky. They would use that against you. Take my experience looking for a job as a perfect example. I have 12 years driving a truck. OTR for 10.5 then hauled gas locally for 1.5 years before I was laid off. I tried to get another gas hauling gig. I have 2 speeding tickets (one in truck for 10 over, one in car for 5 over and no points) plus an accident (non preventable, hit a deer, trooper wrote accident report) showing on my record. So no chance getting gas gig until the accident and at least one speed is off my MVR. So I try to go back regional or OTR. 21 companies said I have no recent OTR because of the gas hauling so they can't hire me. Big companies too. The blue trailer guys said I would need to go out with a trainer!!!

Michigan in general is in a bad area for OTR. Especially in this economy. I was born and raised in Detroit. 8 years ago I got out of there and moved to Columbus, Ohio because I knew back then there was no future in trucking up there. Down here we have major frieght lanes for all types of freight. My advice is to get out of there. Flint was a dump back when I was a kid, I can only imagine what it's like now.

iamazhr; Check your PM's, I sent you one a few hours ago with the website.
Was Go-To actually hiring? There are a number of places where I mentioned, Pepsi was even looking for some one, as well as Waste Management, but that was for residential, not the big trucks.

Please keep posting, and don't have any fear about Canada, the driving aint bad, it's just the guys not wanting you to return, LOL.:biggrin_25526::biggrin_25525:

If you want to find a job right now you need to get every endorsement and be willing and able to do everything, whether you want to or not. If you are too picky, not wanting to get haz-mat, not wanting to do doubles, not wanting to drive into Canada, then you are just limiting yourself and making yourself less desirable than you already are.
If you really want to work you will do what you need to do to have a job. Otherwise you will sit and go broke.
