Good starter companies? If you're looking for local driving work, you probably won't find one. You'll have to do a year of OTR or regional first. But for OTR, you have USA Truck, Schneider, CR England, PAM Transport, SWIFT, Werner. Those are the big companies who hire new drivers out of truck driving school. That list may have changed since this depression and I know a lot of companies are cutting back or have hiring freezes on.

Try Celadon, its OTR but they treated me good (For a large company). They where the second company I drove for, did 2 years with them. So yeah, good for newbies.
